The number of Filipinos living abroad, by today's count is approximately 8,579,378- 11,000,000 (according to the Philippine Government), a number that has grown steadily over the past decade. Most overseas Filipinos migrate to other nations to find employment (overseas Filipino workers-OFW) and support their families in the Philippines. As a result of this migration, many countries have substantial Filipino communities.
BURAGA.org was born in direct response to hundreds of conversations with Filipinos abroad who were seeking a new life, and to better understand how they might live abroad, travel abroad, and relocate abroad.
BURAGA,org is created by a group of OFW for OFW. It is an online community devoted specifically to and exclusively for Filipinos overseas and their families in the Philippines. The portal provides services like Philippine crowd map, calendar, email, free online casual games, free online TV streaming, free online radio streaming, job search, Philippine current news, music, post events, latest gadgets review, free top documentaries online, live tweets, open elearning courses, Pinoy leaks, Pinoy microblogging, Pinoy social network, URL shortener, daily deals, and technology news.
At BURAGA.org members can ask experts their questions, create their own profiles, join groups of those who share their particular interests, create their own groups, make friends, upload photos, and among other features. Using the online community model, our goal is to provide the necessary information, education, guidance, resources, tools and alternatives to start Filipinos abroad down the path of discovering and understanding all that living abroad has to offer. Leading industry experts and many of those who have journeyed ahead will share their personal experiences and knowledge in a great variety of areas.
