Question by answermenowww: Fujifilm finepix j40 shuts off when I press the button to take a picture?
I just bought a fujifilm finepix j40 on amazon and don’t want to return it because I need to take pictures this week! When it’s plugged in, it works just fine. When it’s not though, and I turn it on, it either shuts off immediately or shuts off when I press the button to take a picture. The screen shows that the camera’s fully charged and I’ve tried different batteries too. What could be the cause? Help!

One way or another it is not getting enough power from the batteries to operate. Although it is new, I’d check the battery contacts for clean. I’d double check that the batteries are inserted correctly; I’ve made that mistake several times. If that is all good, contact Amazon and see if they can expedite you another camera.
