well on laptop powerusage is limited thats why laptop performance
is prety poor in some heavy game ETC. desktop does have more power room to run hardware to maximum. but hey ofc it wont be as compact as laptop.

Everybody, have in mind that if you buy a desktop with for example: gtx 670, and an i7,
The price for a laptop with the same specs would be almost twice as much as the desktop

Even a compact one is far larger and heavier than a desktop replacement notebook not mention you’d have to carry your screen, keyboard, mouse and all the wiring + it wouldn’t be as powerful either.

1.You don’t need to replace parts. Warranty does it for you.
2.Yes you can’t change the keyboard. That’s why most laptops come with a good integrated one. Not like you can’t connect an external one though.
Screen. Yes you can replace. It’s a bit difficult but it can be done + you can connect an external one.
3.Desktops are a LOT bigger. That’s why laptops were made. Laptops nowadays can have desktop 670 sli performance. Next year that will jump to desktop 680 sli. You don’t need more for gaming.

by maintenance i mean it is easier to replace parts. By customisable i mean you can change you keyboard or screen to whatever suits you best you can’t do that on a laptop. Desktops are bigger and can fit more better hardware and features. such as greater hard drive space, and more ports eg usb aux etc. it all depends on your the way you live many people have both a laptop and a desktop anyway.

  13. TheBlackIdentety says:

More customisable, reliable. No. Gaming laptops are just as customisable and reliable as a desktop. Maintenance? What are you even talking about? From the software side it’s exactly the same. From the hardware side detto. You just got to blow out the dust from the heat sink fins from time to time just like on a desktop.
Cheaper. Can’t argue there. Mobility has always been more expensive and it will continue to till desktops die out. Max 10 years and they’ll be gone.

  14. KRMSproductions says:

yes. but it is alot easier and cost’s less to do that on a desktop. in some laptops you can’t change the graphics card at all. The whole point of the comment was that desktops are more customisable, reliable, easy maintenance and are cheaper than a laptop.

hard drive: pretty much replaceable on most laptop
    screen: costly, but replaceable
graphics card: The GTX 675M is A GRAPHICS CARD, so it’s replaceable, if you were thinking it was just a soldered chip, you were utterly wrong

Just because you have no imagination doesn’t mean others can’t spend their money on what ever they want noob. It’s cool to have a powerful laptop. If you don’t want one than shut up and buy a craptop! No one cares.

why do you need to have a gaming machine in your backpack at all. For gaming buy a nice and power desktop pc. for on the road work, buy a nice macbook air (preferably the smallest 11 inch). you have all the portability you can get, and the power at home when you need it. i hate all these middle of the road power/portability shit that windows laptops do sometimes. so ya thats my 2 cents guys. windows desktop at home, and the smallest macbook air for the road. perfect setup for me. hope it helps

Are you fucking kidding me. Everyone lookout Captain fucking obvious over here. If you have a laptop why don’t you replace your graphics card/ hard drive/ or screen if it breaks oh wait you can’t. For the price of this laptop you could get a better desktop with more features. That was the point i was trying to get a across but you were too stupid to realise obviously if you want portability then get this fucking stupid bulky ugly ass laptop.
