Forum Ten Commandments

1. The Main Language Used in this Forum is English and Tagalog.

All the other 175 dialects in the Philippines is also allowed. As long as we are able to communicate with other members. But if you use a dialect with only 30,000 living person using it and none of them are members here except you then nobody will answer your inquiries.

If a moderator sees a post in any other language or dialect in the Philippines, it will not be removed. Why? I don't know, I just like it that way. ;-)

2. Respect Yourself and Others.

Be courteous and polite at all times, even if you disagree with someone.

Keep your language family-friendly. Don't cursed or say bad words in your own dialect like, ukkinam, fukinenang, namit kawing and others. Other members and moderators will not  be able to understand them. And you will be giggling alone in front of your computer like an asshole. Only words we can understand are censored to enforce this requirement. If you cursed in Ilongot, lucky you. Ang pinoy nga naman!

Do not make personal attacks against another member.

Think before you hit submit.

If someone annoys you, don't respond -- report the post to a moderator or email it to NOBONG (at) BURAGA dot ORG

3. Search and Read Before you Post.

Most of the forums have important posts stickied at the very top -- we encourage you to read them. Many frequently asked questions and tips, and important resources are posted there and it can save you a bit of time.

You should also search the forums using the search box.

4. Editing a Post.

You have 30 minutes to edit your post after it is being published. After that period of time, your post will be locked for editing. This is an anti-spam measure. Often enough, spammers would write an innocent post so that moderators would not act against them and edit them later on.

If you really need to edit a post, please contact a moderator for assistance.

5. You Can Discuss Politics and Religion.

Experience has shown us that discussions of politics and religion usually lead to disputes, and people end up upset and offended. It's OK because you will not be able to kill each other unlike what happened at Bangbang-ali in Cubao (formerly Ali-bangbang) where two drunkards discussed politics to show that they know something and feel like somebody disguising their miserable life. Yon! nagsaksakan patay yung isa. Headline sa Remate at Tiktik kinabukasan. Sometimes your profile on this forum and on Facebook looks like you are a somebody and intelligent but the moment you typed your ideas people will know otherwise.

But the beauty is you can do it here safely. On the Internet, nobody know you're a dog.

6. Don't Bump Threads.

If your thread hasn't received any answers, don't bump it.

Do not revive old threads by posting on them and getting them back to the first position of the list. Those discussions were finished or didn’t get enough attention in the first place.

7. Don't Cross-Post.

Don't post the same topic in more than one forum. If you feel that your thread needs to be moved, PM a moderator instead. Otherwise, forum members may feel frustrated and annoy, or think that it is spam.

8. Keep Personal Information Private.

All posts in the forums are easily found via search engines, so unless you're willing to expose your information to the world, please do not post telephone numbers, e-mail addresses or IM nicks in your posts. For your own security, keep private information like that - private.

We will not edit or remove a post that contains personal information.

9. Disputes Are Not Forum Fodder.

Friendly debate is fun and helpful,. Disputes aren’t, and should kept private. If you think that someone is being disrespectful to you, or that others may be affected, please report the offensive post.

10. Report Offensive Posts.

If you think that someone is being disrespectful to you, or that others may be affected, use the 'flag post' button.

When you report a post, the moderators of the forum will be notified.

Moderators deal with reported posts based on the information that is available to them. Sometimes a decision may not be exactly what you were hoping for, but it will have been made for a good reason. Please note that a moderator's decision is final and may be based on information that is not available to you.
